You don’t have to explain it perfectly. We can start with what’s been hardest lately.

We can work towards what matters to you—sleeping more comfortably, driving where you need to go, or being more present with the people you care about.

What would you like to feel different?

Your goals give our work a starting point. Counselling may involve understanding patterns, practising ways to manage distress, or taking a manageable step towards something you’ve been avoiding. We’ll decide together what is worth working on, and check how it is going.

Working with Zohreh

Hi, I’m Zohreh.

When we meet, I’ll want to hear how things have been for you and how your days are affected now. You don’t need to explain it perfectly.

I may ask what you notice before you feel overwhelmed, what you do to get through those moments, and what has helped before. We can make sense of patterns without losing sight of what you came for.

I’ll explain the options I’m suggesting and why. There may be practical things to try between appointments, alongside time to talk through what feels difficult. You can tell me what is useful and what doesn’t fit.

I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with BCACC. I offer counselling in English and Farsi.

More about me and my approach →

Two adults in conversation in a bright, furnished room.

You don’t have to tell everything at once.

Our first appointment is a chance to talk about what brings you here, what you want help with, and whether working together feels like a fit. We’ll also discuss how counselling works, privacy and its limits, and your questions.

If working with difficult memories becomes part of our plan, we’ll talk about what it involves and how to prepare before proceeding. You can ask to pause or let me know when something feels too much.

What matters to you belongs in the conversation.

I’m a Muslim counsellor, and I welcome people of every faith and no faith, including Muslim and Sikh clients.

Family expectations, migration or living between cultures may be part of what you want to talk about. I’ll ask what these experiences mean to you, rather than assume.

You choose whether faith is part of our conversations. People of all genders and sexual orientations are welcome.

A few practical questions

Before we talk

Do I need a PTSD diagnosis?

No. You can ask for support when a difficult experience is affecting daily life, including something that happened years ago. We can talk about what is happening now and whether my approach fits your needs.

What approaches might we use?

We may work on thought patterns, ways to manage difficult emotions and practical responses to distress. My training includes EMDR. If it seems relevant, we’ll discuss how it works, the preparation involved and whether it fits your needs and preferences.

Where and when can we meet?

I offer in-person appointments in Surrey and North Delta, and online counselling across BC, in English and Farsi. Daytime, evening, weekday and weekend options vary by appointment type and location. Jane shows current openings. If you will be elsewhere in Canada, contact me to confirm service for your location before booking.

Where can I find fees and insurance information?

My Rates page brings together session fees, intake appointments, extended health benefits, eligible direct billing, funded programs and attendance policies. Many benefit plans cover counselling with an RCC; check your plan for your available coverage. Please contact me if you need help with the next step.

If you’d like to talk, you’re welcome to get in touch.

In a free 15-minute online consultation, you can tell me a little about what you’re looking for and ask your questions. It’s a chance to get a sense of how I work before deciding on a counselling appointment.

The consultation is not a full counselling session, and there’s no obligation to continue.
